EDUCATION

I am currently a junior at Auburn University majoring in HDFE, a dual objective major of Human Development and Family Studies and Early Childhood Education.  This dual objective major follows a curriculum composed of multidisciplinary courses that focus on individuals and families across the life span and that combine child development and appropriate teaching practices.  One relevant course that I have already taken is Lifespan Human Development in Family Context in which I learned more about human development with a focus on significant life transitions.  I also took the course Utilization of Instructional Technology for Educators which incorporates current and emerging instruction and communication technologies with an emphasis on curricular integration.  For my Utilization of Instructional Technology for Educators course I participated in a Global Learning Project that consisted of group communication and collaborative work with students from Auburn, Minnesota, and Taiwan to create an educational website for students grades K - 3rd and their teachers about the country of Greece.  The website that we created includes webpages about the culture, history, and current events, as well as a detailed lesson plan for a classroom unit.  Through the Global Learning Project, and the Utilization of Instructional Technology course as a whole, I gained experience of how to use a variety of technological resources, including numerous apps, video-makers, and SmartNotebook tools, and how to implement them into a lesson plan and a classroom.  So far, Auburn has provided me with outstanding courses, professors, and opportunities that are preparing me for my future career.  I plan to graduate from Auburn in May 2019 with a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies and an Alabama Teacher Certificate.
