ABOUT ME
My name is Sara Mann, and I’d like to thank you for visiting my website. I am currently a senior at Auburn University majoring in HDFE, a dual objective major of Human Development and Family Studies and Early Childhood Education. I am a lover of people, travel, music, and all things Cleveland sports. I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, and I can tell that has influenced the person I am today. Cleveland is a diverse melting pot of people from many different cultures and backgrounds, and being raised in Cleveland pushed me to understand diversity and taught me to appreciate it.
Growing up I was fortunate to go to schools where every teacher strived to create a one-on-one relationship with each student, and where teachers invested their time in not only the students’ school work, but in the students’ lives and well-beings. I know many students are not as lucky as I was. My teachers encouraged me to learn, inspired me to grow, and helped me when I struggled. Through my experience in elementary, middle, and high school I was shown the importance of teachers and the impact that they can make on a student’s life.
When the time came to decide on a college I knew I wanted to challenge myself and leave my comfort zone of the city I knew so well and loved so much. My decision led me to Auburn, Alabama where Auburn University has become my second home and a place where I can grow in to the next chapter of my life while pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Human Development and Family Studies and teacher certification with the goal of becoming an early childhood education teacher. As a teacher I want to incorporate all that I have learned from growing up in Cleveland, throughout my educational career, and at Auburn University to create an enjoyable, welcoming, and safe classroom environment for students of all backgrounds as a substantial foundation for all of their future education.
